Chinese President Xi Jinping and Crown Prince Mohammed of Abu Dhabi together witnessed the exchange of the agreement between Tsinghua University and Khalifa University of Science and Technology
On the morning of July 22nd, witnessed jointly by Chinese President Xi Jinping and H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), President Qiu Yong of Tsinghua University and Executive Vice President Dr. Arif Sultan Al Hammadi of Khalifa University of Science and Technology exchanged the recently signed agreement on Establishing Joint Research Cooperation between Tsinghua University and Khalifa University of Science and Technology at the Great Hall of the People.
In recent years, Tsinghua University has been attaching great importance to cooperation with universities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In 2017, Tsinghua signed a university-level cooperation agreement with Khalifa University of Science and Technology. The cooperation agreement on joint research has been signed this time to further strengthen research cooperation and teacher exchange between the two universities. The main contents of the agreement include: that the two sides should work to establish a joint research program that brings together interdisciplinary experts, experienced engineers and industrial partners; to establish a long-term and effective cooperative relationship through interdisciplinary research and innovation; to promote closer research exchange and cooperation between the teachers of the two universities; to promote the development of the knowledge economy and economic diversification in China and the UAE; to train young talents with a global vision for the development of China and the UAE; and to jointly deal with global challenges such as sustainable industry, human development and global climate change.
