Adrian Jakubke, hailing from Germany, embarked on an academic and personal adventure when he chose to study international politics at Tsinghua University. Over the past four years, Adrian has thrived in the vibrant academic environment and diverse community at Tsinghua, culminating in his graduation with a Bachelor’s degree. Now, he is ready to continue his academic journey with a Master's degree in Politics in the UK.
Adrian’s time at Tsinghua has been richly rewarding, both academically and personally. A passionate athlete, Adrian enjoys playing soccer and handball, and he is an active member of the departmental handball team. His involvement in extracurricular activities did not stop there; he also honed his skills as an emcee and served as a student journalist for the Global Communication Office. These experiences were complemented by the honor of being named a Global Student Ambassador, a testament to his dedication and contributions to the university community.
One of Adrian’s most memorable and fulfilling experiences at Tsinghua was completing his research thesis. This project was a significant milestone that allowed him to explore a topic of his own choosing and conduct independent research. The process was transformative, and his friends have noted his remarkable maturity and growth over the past year.
Looking ahead, Adrian is excited about the future. After completing his Master's degree in the UK, he plans to return to Germany and pursue a career in politics, with aspirations of working in the German Parliament. He is also open to the possibility of returning to Tsinghua to pursue a second Master’s degree at the prestigious Schwarzman College.
Adrian holds Tsinghua University in high regard and considers it his second home. The university has provided him with countless precious and happy memories, and he is profoundly grateful for the experiences and opportunities it has given him. He hopes that Tsinghua will continue to grow and thrive, and become a place that creates the best memories for many more students in the future.
