“No Regrets” - A rewarding journey of a student from Northeast China

Yin Rouhan, a girl from Hei Longjiang Province, recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Tsinghua University. After enjoying her time at Zhili College, she felt grateful for the opportunities the University provided, which cultivated her mindset of thinking critically, paying attention to details, pursuing innovation and probing to find truth. Additionally, she participated in a program called BID (Business Intelligence Design), which sparked her interest in the business world and eventually encouraged her to minor in business studies.

Alongside the academic life at Tsinghua, she took part in arts and sports related activities. Serving as a team lead of the Tsinghua Dance Society and organising lots of activities, she was equipped with coordination and collaboration skills. She played a role of ‘Little Chilli’ in the opera ‘the Blossom of Iris lactea Pall’ over four rounds. She admires the great sense of responsibility of the older generations of Tsinghua people, who dedicated themselves to the modernization of the motherland, and this will guide and empower her on her career path. Besides, she insisted on improving her physical abilities and received many sporting accolades, including the second class prize in 200m breaststroke swimming competition during ‘Ma Yuehan Cup’. In the future, Yin aims to practice Tsinghua’s mottos ‘No sports, No Tsinghua’ and ‘Work healthily for at least 50 years for the motherland’ into reality.

During the graduating period, Rouhan expressed her warm gratitude to Tsinghua University, professors and her friends that helped her become confident, encouraged her to pursue the beauty she was into and granted her recognition. She hoped Tsinghua University will thrive and prosper year after year. Following graduation, Yin will pursue a master degree at Tsinghua’s School of Social Sciences. She expected her junior fellow students live for the moment and live without regrets on Tsinghua campus. She advised them to make use of the resources Tsinghua provided and give it a try when they meet some interesting things: “Love what you love, do what you do, follow your heart and do not hesitate.”
