Chinese Entrepreneurs’ Development Confidence Index for the Second Half of 2018 is Released

On Feb. 16-18, 2019, Wang Yong, Vice Director of the Institute of Minsheng Economic Research, Tsinghua University, attended the 19th Annual Meeting of Yabuli China Entrepreneurs Forum, chaired the national-level forum with the theme of “New Path for Enterprises’ Internationalization”, and released the Chinese entrepreneurs’ development confidence index for the second half of 2018.

The overall development confidence index stood at 52.69 marks, close to the threshold, and with 4 percentage points down y-o-y and m-o-m, showing a drop higher than the previous ones, which indicated that entrepreneurs had certain worries about economic prospects and were pessimistic to some extent.

However, China’s business environment improved significantly, with the business environment index of 60.57 marks for the second half of 2018, up about 6.7% compared with that in the first half of 2018, and up about 16.3% compared with that for the same period last year, which was inseparable from the government’s efforts to move ahead with commercial system reform and activate micro market entity.

CCTV kept detailed reports on the release, and other media, including finance.sina.com.cn, caixin.com, qq.com and www.0033.com also reported or reprinted the release.
